Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is one of the most brutal diseases facing humanity. ALS weakens motor neurons, which stop sending signals to muscles, which causes people to weaken and waste away. Eventually, the brain loses its ability to initiate and control voluntary movements. The average life expectancy for a person diagnosed with ALS is 3-5 years, and the road is a hard one to travel.
