RC Forward is Canada's first cause-neutral donation routing fund for high-impact charities around the world. We provide options for Canadian donors to give unrestricted donations to four designated cause areas or directly to participating high-impact charities.

Rethink Charity presents RC Forward, Canada’s first cause-neutral donation routing fund for high-impact charities around the world.

More than most countries, the Canadian government makes it notoriously difficult for donors to receive tax benefits from gifts to non-Canadian charities. Thanks to our partnerships with the CHIMP and Priority Foundations, RC Forward is solving that problem for select charities, including the Against Malaria Foundation, the Good Food Institute, MIRI, and others.

--RC Funds--

RC Forward provides options for Canadian donors to give unrestricted donations to four designated cause areas: Global Health, Human Empowerment, and Animal Welfare. These funds will be allocated quarterly according to the recommendations of charity evaluators and experts in the respective fields.

--Direct Donations--

In addition to the three funds, RC Forward allows donors to give directly to participating high-impact charities. RC Forward currently supports over 30 high-impact charities, with more to come. (See our website for an up-to-date list of charities.)

--2020 Plans--

In 2020, we will be helping even more Canadians donate to high-impact charities, while working on ways to bring donors closer to their impact by reporting on our distribution activity. Users will be able to more easily track the journey of a donation to its destination charity. While we anticipate the COVID-19 pandemic will have an effect on the volume of grants, we still expect to have a cost-effective 2020.

--Cost-effectiveness

In 2018, our best guess is that, for every $1 spent on operations, we moved an additional $7 to high-impact charities. Learn more on our blog post.
