The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is a national non-profit organization that aims to preserve and protect the wilderness across Canada. Since 1963 they have led in creating over two-thirds of Canada’s protected areas by working with government, stakeholders, industry, and First Nations. Their mission is to keep half of Canada's public lands and waters wild.
Want to have fun and save our wilderness? CPAWS-BC is partnering with the Vancouver Dodgeball League to put on a fundraiser dodgeball tournament. Teams will try to stay alive on the courts while competing to see who raises the most money to protect BC’s beautiful landscapes!
If you live in BC, chances are at some point you've hiked a local mountain, strolled along a seawall, watched the changing colours of maple leaves and cherry blossoms as the seasons go by. Maybe you've even spotted a few bears on camping trips, or orcas on the ferry across the Strait of Georgia.
It’s easy to forget what a beautiful place we live in, and how important its role is in providing us with fresh air, clean water, and biodiversity. Yet a lot of our parks, oceans, and wildlife are under threat from factors like development, pollution, and climate change. Without adequate protection, these gorgeous landscapes may disappear soon.

Help us by making a donation, or by creating and sharing your own fundraising page for the Go Wild Dodgeball Tournament, to help us raise funds to continue our work in environmental conservation.
For more information and to register a team, please visit http://cpawsbc.org/events/dodgeball-tournament. Fundraise from now until midnight May 22nd, 2015, and we will tally up the total and announce the results at the tournament. If your team raises more than $100, your entry fee is waived. As an added incentive, there will be awesome prizes for individuals and teams that fundraise the most amount.
Environmental organizations like CPAWS can only continue our work in conservation with support from people like you. By fundraising for our dodgeball tournament, you can help protect grizzly sanctuaries, huge colonies of seabirds, tender grasslands, endangered orca habitat, and untouched stretches of boreal forest.
We are the ones who see and feel the effects of pipelines, tar sands, ocean acidification, and global warming, and we need you to take action and spread the word in order to protect our wilderness. So if you love our great outdoors, diverse wildlife, and the home we live in, help us keep BC wild. Let’s work together to protect our stunning wilderness.
