Established in 1729, Wolmer’s Boys and Wolmer’s Girls School are located in Kingston, Jamaica. Currently enrolment at each school is 1500 students. The schools provide high quality secondary education leading to university and college entrance. Both schools are supported by grants from the Government of Jamaica, and by funds solicited from alumni, parents and friends. Currently the funding from these revenue streams is highly inadequate, and threatens the sustained development of both schools and their ability to maintain their high standards of academic excellence.
Your donations will help to support the mission of the Wolmer's Alumni Association, Toronto Chapter.
The mission of the Wolmer’s Alumni Association, Toronto, is to support the vision of the Wolmer's schools as learning communities, to foster a lifelong association with Wolmer's and to serve the association's members in all its diversity. By raising funds and gifts-in- kind for Wolmer's, the association contributes to the scholastic and personal growth of students of Wolmer's schools and to the young Jamaicans generally. The association is committed to being professional and ethical is its practices. Net proceeds from the 2019 Walk for Wolmer’s campaign will be used to fund (i) fund scholarships for Wolmerians attending post-secondary institutions, and (ii) fund improvements to the teaching/learning environment at Wolmer's Boys School and Wolmer's Girls School.
