Group Admins
The Squamish Skateboard Association (SSA) is a non profit organization our goal is to provide a year round, indoor space for skateboarding.
Whats our plan?
In a town like Squamish where rain, snow, and long winters limit outdoor access, a dedicated indoor skate space is essential to keep people active year-round.
Our goal is to provide an indoor skatepark that would provide a safe, inclusive hub for all ages to build skills, confidence, and community no matter the weather.
SSA is made of a few local skaters and business owners who are committed to providing an indoor space for Skateboarding in the Sea to Sky
Where are we at?
• We have secured a 5-year land lease at the Matthews West Oceanfront site as part of their new pop-up village plans more details here - just find oceanfront on the map and click pop-up village
• A 40ft x 50ft temporary structure has already been donated by Polygon Homes.
• We believe that having some land allocated is a huge step to actually making this happen.
Our Problems
• Sadly the donated structure is too old and expensive to reuse. It costs less for us to buy a new structure
• Buying a new structure allows us to go bigger and get more space which is where you come in!
• We also want to raise funds for creating obstacles, help with out with materials cost and invest in some equipment to get this project up and running
