Share My Next Meal is a social media challenge designed to bring awareness of hunger and poverty in local communities. The idea is to encourage community involvement and donations to local food banks. "Most of us know where our next meal is coming from…Many don't!"
Be a part of a social media challenge. Take a photo of your meal, hashtag it #sharemynextmeal, donate a portion of the cost of your meal to your local food bank and challenge three friends on social media to do the same! Don't forget to find us on Facebook or Twitter and tell us what community you shared your meal with!
Share My Next Meal campaign was created by Cydney Myers, Carolina Silva and Kara Hanson. The girls are students at the University of The Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC. The campaign was originally a project assigned to them in their Global Development class by Professor, Cherie Enns. They were asked to think of a campaign to combat poverty locally. Because their campaign had no overhead costs and didn't require a budget, the girls were able to launch the campaign on November 17, 2014.
