Due to the nature of this virus spreading through person-to-person transmission and its rapid growth across the globe, COVID-19 has been causing mass panic among the population. This panic has led to people hoarding various protective equipment and sanitary items, causing a shortage for those who truly need these tools to combat this illness; our healthcare sector. Our healthcare professionals are fighting at the frontline of this pandemic. They are completing their duties as a trained medical professional despite the danger of being constantly exposed to the virus. As these healthcare workers are completing their duties to save others risking their safety, it should be our duty to ensure that they have access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to maximize their safety during their work periods.
Senior homes are also facing a shortage of these supplies. As there is a demographic that may be more prone to COVID-19 compared to others at senior homes, various protection equipment must be provided at these locations to maximize the safety and to decrease the spread of the virus. There are significant numbers of COVID-19 cases occurring at senior homes, and it is essential to recognize their need for this equipment and to take action to protect community members.
Our relief fund will fundraise to provide PPE for hospitals and senior homes as these locations are in the greatest shortage of this equipment and are also the places that need it the most. We, as a community, need to protect and look after one another, especially in times of a crisis.
Please donate! Besides doing our parts by staying indoors and practicing proper sanitary habits, we must also strive to help these healthcare staff who are tirelessly working for the safety and rehabilitation of others in the community. Furthermore, we need to understand and recognize that there are people who may be more vulnerable to this virus and therefore we need to protect as members of the society. In times of uncertainty, it is crucial that we work together as a community.
You, me, the entire community. We are all in this together.
