Help refugees displaced by conflict, violence and persecution reunite with family in Canada by supporting the Immigrant Services Society of BC Private Sponsorship Program.

The Group’s Purpose

Canada's Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program helps thousands of vulnerable children, youth and families every year. ISSofBC sponsors refugees from abroad who to come to Canada for family reunification. As a sponsor, we provide financial and emotional support including help with housing, clothing and food for one year.

Since our first donation in 2016, we have reunited 30 individuals from across the world with their families in Canada. Over 20 are scheduled to arrive in 2021 and beyond.

How to Help

As COVID-19 is severely limiting our ability to be reunited with friends and family and resume our normal lives, it is worth remembering that those displaced by conflict, violence and persecution are faced with these uncertainties, and many more, every day.

Through your generous donations you can help those most in need who have no prospect of returning home, start new lives in Canada.

Your donation directly supports sponsorship such as start-up costs, food, clothing, housing which averages over $18,000 per individual for the one-year duration.
