While COVID-19 has impacted many aspects of our daily lives, it has unfortunately not changed the complexity of human relationships— including bullying. In fact, recent news articles have reported an increase in bullying due to higher than normal screen times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pink Shirt Day and Normac
Pink Shirt Day is a Canada-wide anti-bullying initiative founded by CKNW Kids' Fund. This Pink Shirt Day, Normac is taking a stand against bullying. We echo CKNW's sentiment that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. On February 24, 2021, we will be wearing pink to symbolize that we do not tolerate harassment or aggressive behaviour of any kind. Together, we can help put a stop to bullying.
In honour of Pink Shirt Day, Normac is gathering donations for Canadian anti-bullying programs. 100% of the net proceeds are distributed to various organizations that foster children’s healthy relationships and self-esteem, both with their peers and themselves.
Normac is proud to support CKNW and their anti-bullying initiatives. In 2020 alone, CKNW helped fund programs that impacted over 59,000 children and youth, including Kids Help Phone, KidSafe Project, Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC, Boys and Girls Club of Western Canada, and I Am Someone Ending Bullying Society.
