The Group's Purpose

I am currently a full-time university student at the University of Guelph in my first year, studying human nutrition, and I really enjoyed my first semester a Guelph! It has been a great experience and I have learned a lot from my new teammates and coaches. This fall I managed to make the Guelph varsity XC running team, and was very excited and happy to race for them! I was 3rd at the OUA and 6th at the CIS Cross Country 2012 championships. I was also named OUA and CIS rookie of the year, and hope to continue my successes later on indoors this winter. In November 2012, I was the silver medalist (junior women) at the Canadian Cross Country Championships in Vancouver, and was named to the Canadian National Cross Country team. I represented Canada in Jamaica, competing at NACAC (North American, Central American and Caribbean) at the end of January. I placed 2nd individually, and helped bring home the overall team Junior girls title! It was an amazing experience, and I couldn't be more proud to be Canadian! I will compete for Canada again at the Worlds Cross Country Championships in Poland at the end of March.
Since Athletics Canada does not have the resources this year to fund athletes competing at Worlds in Poland, so I am looking for support to help me attend this international competition. The estimated total cost of these races and travel fees is $4,000. Any donations to my account will be given a tax receipt, and forwarded to Athletics Canada to go towards my travel costs for the international competitions.
Thank you to my family and friends for supporting me throughout this journey, and for helping me to achieve my goals to run for Canada and compete on the world stage! I am excited and very grateful to be given these opportunities and intend to continue to work and train very hard. Thank you again for all your help!
