Group Admins

I advocate for addressing systemic barriers to mental health and well-being through the support of transformative community-university engagement efforts.

The Group's Purpose

Members of a university and college (students, faculty, administration) are also part of a community, and their skills and strengths can be harnessed to support the more vulnerable within that community. Some initiatives complement and support (and reduce pressures on) existing social and health services while not being dependent on the same structures they depend on (i.e. funding), thus allowing for more nimble, grassroots community-based initiatives.

How to Help

I will send all of the money raised to the following charities. If you can't donate, please share! That would mean the world to me.

1. Moving Forward Family Services (MFFS) is a mentorship agency – providing counselling and social work practice opportunities to interns and new graduates beginning private practice. They receive funding for clinical supervision (supervisors who support interns and new graduates) and these supervisors in turn oversees an agency that has over 125 part-time counsellors, social workers and interns on post-secondary practicums, providing support to some of our most vulnerable communities.

2. The Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre helps families across the province navigate the mental health system, listen and offer peer support, and connect them to resources and tools.
