Group Admins

Opened in June 2016, ISSofBC Welcome Centre lives up to its reputation as a successful model of integrated housing and settlement support services for newcomers. Your continued support means we can carry on our mission of building a future for immigrants and refugees in Canada.

The Group’s Purpose

Imagine arriving at the Vancouver International Airport with nothing but the shirt on your back. You may have lived years in one of the world's refugee camps after fleeing your homeland due to persecution, violence or war. You may be alone or with your family, unable to communicate in English and feeling lost.

This is where the ISSofBC Welcome Centre steps in.

This East Vancouver facility is the first of its kind in the world: a fully integrated services centre addressing the immediate needs of refugees and immigrants arriving in BC.

New arrivals to Canada will have streamlined access to care through temporary housing and on-site services from multiple organizations, public institutions, and programs.
