The Empower Her fundraising campaign is an SFU initiative that gives you the chance to support Syrian refugees and local women in need.
The Group's Purpose
The goal of this campaign is two-fold: to support the preparation and delivery of 200 care packages for Syrian refugees in our city and to accumulate $1,080 in monetary donations for continuing Dress for Success Vancouver operations.
How to Help
Between February 29 and March 8, Empower Her is collecting cosmetic products and toiletries for the assembly of care packages. Unopened or sample shampoos, conditioners, soaps, lotions, face wash, toothpaste, floss, toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving cream, razors, and makeup are welcome. These donations can be dropped off at the Dress for Success Vancouver office or at the Maggie Benston Centre 0300 at Simon Fraser University (ask for Grace Le!).
Between February 29 and March 31, Empower Her is raising $1,080 to fund the journeys of three women ($360 per woman) through the Dress for Success program. $360 supports a woman for an entire year, and represents the full transformation of breaking the cycle of poverty. For a woman to graduate from the Dress for Success career development program, she gains the independence and ability to support herself and family. Donate now to support local women in need!

About Dress for Success Vancouver: Dress for Success Vancouver is a community empowering women into the workforce by providing them with professional attire, career services, and skills development programs. Established in 1999, Dress for Success Vancouver was the first International affiliate providing over 22,000 suitings to women in the Lower Mainland.
About Empower Her: Empower Her is a fundraising campaign created by SFU undergraduates Edison Sie, Ranita Lau, and Grace Le in partnership with Dress for Success Vancouver and ISS of BC.
