Group Admins
We're Andrew and Jett - two friends from Alberta and BC. We're raising $8,500 for the Terry Fox Foundation & Ecotrust Canada by paddling 850km along the North Saskatchewan River across Alberta! We're funding the trip ourselves. Every dollar goes directly to these charities. Please donate!
Why we're doing this
Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada. The Canadian Cancer Society states that nearly one in two Canadians is expected to be diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lifetime, and one in four will die from the disease.
The waterways we're paddling run near communities where river pollution has led to increased cancer diagnoses, with some reports indicating that rates could be up to 13 times higher than the provincial average. We believe protecting the environment is the best way to protect our people; after all, we all live here.
We don't just inherit the land from our predecessors; we borrow it from our successors.
Where your money goes
Our giving group's default is to split your donation 50/50 between the two charities involved, but the choice is yours - you can give 100% to either charity or choose your own split.
The Terry Fox Foundation - Founded in 1988, the Terry Fox Foundation (TFF) funds innovative cancer research across Canada.

Ecotrust Canada - Founded in 1995, Ecotrust Canada (Ecotrust) runs programs to build sustainable economies in Canada. The charity works with rural, remote, and Indigenous communities to develop methods of improving sustainability.

The Expedition
A 4-6 week journey from the Rocky Mountains to the eastern prairies. We will paddle the North Saskatchewan River across Alberta from BC to Saskatchewan - a trip totalling just over 850 kilometres. We'll be camping along the way, posting updates when we can!
We're covering all trip expenses ourselves - gear, food, etc. Not a single dollar of your donation pays for our trip. 100% goes to the charities.
