The Group's Purpose

The BC COVID-19 Combat Collective represents a powerhouse of scientific experts — across a number of leading healthcare organizations — researching innovative solutions to detect, neutralize and combat COVID-19.

The BC COVID-19 Combat Collective is made up of BC's top charitable organizations supporting BC's world-leading research teams from BC Cancer, the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control, the University of British Columbia and Vancouver General Hospital.

We’ve joined forces to raise funds for BC’s leading experts who are on the global stage in researching innovative solutions to detect, neutralize and combat COVID-19.

How to Help

Your donation will play a crucial part in stopping COVID-19 and saving lives in BC and around the world. Please donate today!

The BC COVID-19 Combat Collective will tackle this virus from every angle. We need your help to fuel:

Prevention

The best defence is a good offence. Responsible actions by individuals will be key to reducing further spread. We are supporting public health research to better inform a comprehensive public health response.

Testing

Accelerate research into vaccines and rapid testing. By better identifying asymptomatic transition and supporting the global vaccine effort, we can take back tomorrow – together.

Treatment

Utilizing bench to bedside research to put promising treatments to work immediately, saving lives now and in the future.

Your support will help fund research projects like:

  • investigating the use of plasma from patients who have recovered from COVID-19 as a treatment for infected patients

  • serological testing and surveillance to assess our population's immunity and prepare for future outbreaks of COVID-19

  • the development of rapid, accessible, less invasive, population-wide testing for novel coronavirus infections

  • the establishment of a provincial biobank of patients samples to coordinate and support a broad range of COVID-19 research efforts

  • About the Organizers
