In honour of our daughter Ava and all other girls living with Rett Syndrome, we want to raise money for research so that treatments and a cure can be found.

The Group's Purpose

We have created the Angel Ava Fund through a charity called the CHaritable IMPact Foundation (or CHIMP for short). We are using CHIMP as a lot of promising research is being done on both sides of the border. This fund has been set up so you will receive a Canadian tax receipt from CHIMP. All donations made to the Angel Ava fund will go towards supporting charities that focus on Rett research.

Rett Syndrome is a debilitating neurodevelopmental genetic disorder. Most of these 'angels' can't walk, talk, or use their hands purposefully. They understand everything and with the use of new eye gaze technology, are proving that their cognitive function has been grossly underestimated for years; many can read at grade level!

While this disease is devastating, there is hope in the form of research. Scientists have completely reversed Rett Syndrome in mice and we are confident that treatments and a cure is on the way. Due to the fact that they have identified the gene responsible, Rett Syndrome is poised to be the first neurodevelopmental disease to be cured- it may also unlock the mystery of other conditions including Autism, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's disease.

How to Help

Please consider donating money towards research for Rett Syndrome.

About the Organizers

Jennifer and Herman are the parents of two beautiful girls- Clara, and Ava who has Rett Syndrome. They dream of the day their daughters will play together and argue over who gets to sit in the front seat of the car.
