Mission Statement
The Young Mining Professionals Scholarship Fund supports education for the next generation of mining professionals in Canada. Its mission is to fund and promote mining and mining-related education, especially for students who show leadership, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit in the mining industry. The Fund aims to attract young people to Canada’s exploration and mining sector by providing financial support directly to students enrolled in earth sciences and mining-related post-secondary programs.

Geographic Focus
The Fund operates across Canada, focusing on students attending Canadian post-secondary institutions. It supports both undergraduate and graduate students from any province or territory who are pursuing studies related to mining. While based in Toronto, its reach is nationwide, welcoming applications from eligible students at Canadian universities and colleges, ensuring a broad and inclusive impact within the country’s mining education sector.

Program Highlights
Each year, the Fund awards substantial scholarships to Canadian students in mining-related programs. In 2024, it awarded $225,000 in scholarships, partnering with more than twenty companies to offer awards ranging from $500 to $15,000. Scholarships may also include internships with donor partners and are awarded based on academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and a demonstrated commitment to a mining career. The Fund ensures that 100% of contributions from donors go directly to student scholarships, helping to foster a strong and innovative talent base for the Canadian mining industry.
