World Animal Protection (formerly WSPA) carries out programs to promote the protection of animals, prevent animal cruelty and relieve animal suffering in Canada and abroad. At World Animal Protection, we work to end animal suffering in four key areas - in the wild, in communities, in disasters and in farming.
Our approach is unique. It’s based on three ‘levers of change’ that work together to drive real, sustainable, transformational change for animals.
• We lobby for change – by engaging with, advocating to and putting pressure on government and influential industry leaders.
• We educate and mobilize the public to build a people’s movement that demands change for animals.
• And we demonstrate humane alternative solutions – such as elephant-friendly venues or high welfare farms – that inspire others to replicate them.
Our work is always evidence based: we go undercover to bring animal abuse to light, and partner with universities to carry out academic research.
We focus on issues where we can have the biggest global impact on reducing the scale, duration and intensity of animal suffering.
We have come a long way. But our movement has much further to go if we are to give every animal a real chance of a life worth living.
With you on board, we can change their world.
