1. The year 2017 saw the very successful continuation of the "UofMosaic" initiative to promote inter-community dialogue and commitment to peace building on Canadian university campuses. The program is now operating at six university campuses across the country. 2. "Next Generation" - a community dialogue program for high school students with curriculum tailored to the needs of specific ethnocultural communities exploring the values of Canadian global citizenship. During 2017 Next Generation partnership programs highlighted the experiences of both South Asian and East Asian students. The program was offered in Abbotsford and Vancouver BC and in Ontario through the York Region District School Board. 3. "New Beginnings" is Mosaic's community based program for young adults connected to conflicts overseas. The current project "Intra-Jewish Peace Dialogue on the Middle East" saw its steering committee working on plans to host a number of discussion groups to provide a "safe space" for young Canadian Jewish adults to exchange perspectives regarding the Israel - Palestinian conflict.
1. "Mosaic Stories" is a way to showcase the stories of those who have lived the horrors of hatred and have wisdom we need to hear and learn from. A Living Book of Mosaic Stories is being created, with Exhibit Experiences across the country. 2. SSHRC Research Project Mosaic is collaborating with the Univerity of Guelph to complete the project titled "Communities of Colour and Reconciliation in Canada". This project involves assessing, surveying and dialoguing with individuals in the GTA of South Asian and/or Caribbean heritage to ascertain their understandings and opinions about Canada's ongoing reconciliation process with Indigenous peoples living in Canada.
