Our weekday Breakfast Program ensures students and families of Lord Strathcona Elementary (attached to our building) start their school days with a healthy breakfast. We regularly serve on average 250 breakfasts/day. That's 35,000 breakfasts during the school year. Amazing right? Each meal costs about $1.75.

The Backpack Program, provides food access to families each Friday for 45 weeks a year. We currently have 810 participants from 135 low income families receiving food through our weekly Backpack markets.

The Strathcona Community Centre Association’s mission is to sustain, promote and develop a resource that supports the changing social and recreational needs and aspirations of the Strathcona community. Among the services it provides are: licensed childcare and preschool programs; food security program to support local, low-income children and families; and, recreation, social, cultural and educational programs for all ages from babies to seniors.
