Program highlights include narrated scenic excursions that provide a historic look at Canadian railway heritage. Volunteers who have received proper training operate the excursion trains. These volunteers serve as flagmen, trainmen, conductors, firemen, and locomotive engineers. The foundation also focuses on restoration work, with volunteers managing track maintenance, locomotive repair, and coach maintenance. Engine #136 was restored in 2011 after extensive work by the organization's volunteers.
