SHARE Family & Community Services Society is a non-profit, independent, community based organization providing leadership and programs in response to the social needs of the residents of the Tri-Cities (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra), New Westminster and adjacent communities.
SHARE Family & Community Services exists so that vulnerable individuals and families in the Tri-cities, Anmore and Belcarra have the opportunity to pursue the life they choose.
In 1972, SHARE started as a children's clothing exchange in the basement of founder Gertie Grosser's home. It quickly became a focal point for community members who wanted to help themselves and their neighbours with life's challenges. Today, SHARE is an independent, community-based nonprofit that provides leadership and programs to address the social needs of 30,000 residents in Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Belcarra, Anmore, and New Westminster. SHARE services are grounded in people's vulnerabilities, and SHARE's programs change the trajectories of those living in poverty, isolation, or discrimination. SHARE is a CARF-accredited charity offering programs and services that meet international quality standards in health and human services, with a focus on impact and outcomes. The heart of SHARE is supporting community members and providing a wide range of services that wrap around people in their time of need. SHARE does this through community support and collaborative partnerships with other service providers, groups and individual donors.
Mission: SHARE Family and Community Services exists to Connect, Engage, and Strengthen Individuals and Families.
