Lookout Foundation is a charitable organization established to relieve poverty and supports the activities of Lookout Housing and Health Society, a separate charity that was founded in 1971 to support homeless individuals.
Today Lookout Society offer a broad range of housing, support and health services to marginalized adults who struggle with multiple barriers to services that include extreme poverty, mental health, substance use, chronic illness, trauma and mobility challenges.
Lookout operates in 41 locations serving 14 communities across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island. Through its housing and shelters, Lookout houses up to 1428 individuals each night. Lookout also serves almost 1250 guests daily through our resource centers, food security programs, medical, dental and wellness clinics, harm reduction programs, supervised consumption sites, HIV/Hep C supports, outreach teams, social enterprises and employment programs.
Lookout provides non-judgmental, minimal barrier services to assist adults and seniors to achieve stable housing and improved wellness.
Helping people help themselves is essential in addressing poverty and related challenges. Securing appropriate housing is the first and most essential step in achieving responsible independence for individuals.
