Each year in BC, tens of thousands of pets are taken in by community-based rescue organizations and shelters.
Paws for Hope’s purpose is to help keep pets with the families that love them. Most animals don’t need to be rescued; most often, the people who love and care for them simply need some support to help them give the care their pets deserve.
Today, Paws for Hope is the only charity to directly help BC's dogs, cats, and other small animals by offering temporary foster care, funding support for veterinary care and veterinary services for under resourced and/or remote communities.

Paws for Hope Animal Foundation is a B.C based charity committed to keeping BC pets together with the people who love them.
Each year in BC, tens of thousands of pets are taken in by community-based rescue organizations and shelters. They are abandoned and surrendered for a number of reasons—families with a pet in distress are unable to afford or access vital veterinary care, individuals in crisis or fleeing violence are rarely able to take their pets with them, many people are unable to find pet-friendly housing.
Paws for Hope’s purpose is to help keep pets with the families that love them. Most animals don’t need to be rescued; most often, the people who love and care for them simply need some support to help them give the care their pets deserve.
We support people with pets who are in crisis, whether because of trauma, abuse, addiction, illness, mental health, financial crises, accidents, homelessness, disabilities or other crises.
We provide the support they need to keep and care for their pets, ensuring families remain intact with the pets that love them. This approach is less costly and more humane than having loved animals in a shelter, and we know it can prevent the needless trauma and harm of surrendering a pet.
Today, Paws for Hope is the only charity to directly help BC's dogs, cats, and other small animals by offering temporary foster care, funding support for veterinary care and veterinary services for under resourced and/or remote communities.
