The Nile Creek Enhancement Society's mission is to enhance and protect fresh water and marine habitats that support salmonids along the east coast of Vancouver Island. Their aim is to foster public education, inspiring passion and commitment to the restoration and preservation of salmon and other aquatic wildlife. The organization believes that healthy watersheds are important for sustaining viable salmon populations and thriving ecosystems.

The Society is geographically focused on the central east coast of Vancouver Island, specifically working within the Strait of Georgia and the surrounding watersheds. All program efforts take place in this region, including local streams and marine environments, with particular attention given to communities such as Bowser, BC. The organization collaborates with individuals and groups in the region to maximize positive impact for fish and habitat conservation.

Key programs include operating a volunteer-run salmon hatchery, restoring habitats for species like Pink, Coho, Chum, and Cutthroat Trout, stream rehabilitation, kelp replantation, eelgrass mapping and monitoring, and public education initiatives. The Society also works to create diversion channels, improves fish passage, and implements upgrades to hatchery facilities in partnership with grant providers. These efforts help to rebuild vulnerable salmon stocks, improve aquatic habitat, and foster community engagement in environmental stewardship.
