Mission Statement
The Massey Theatre Society is dedicated to nurturing and supporting the performing arts with respect and integrity. Its vision is to be a catalyst for a vibrant, expressive community and a stage where any dream is possible. The Society aims to create a place that celebrates community achievement, supports artistic collaboration, and encourages personal development through the arts.

Geographic Focus
The Society operates primarily in New Westminster, British Columbia, where it manages the historic Massey Theatre and the Anvil Centre Theatre. Its activities and events are centered in this community, serving as a regional arts hub for Metro Vancouver. While its main focus is local, the Society’s programs and performances attract artists and audiences from across the province, enhancing its reach within British Columbia.

Program Highlights
The Massey Theatre Society offers a wide range of programs, including large and small stage performances, digital arts, visual arts exhibitions, and community workshops. It provides spaces for professional artists, community groups, and intergenerational programs, fostering artistic growth and connection. The Society also supports health and wellness initiatives, such as expressive art therapies and inclusive arts programs, and offers rental spaces for music, meetings, and creative activities. Through partnerships, it ensures diverse, accessible, and evolving cultural experiences for all ages and backgrounds. 

Donations to Massey Theatre General Fund do much for our mission and vision to provide access to the arts for the region. These donations go a long way towards renovations, artist fees, upgrades of equipment, new state of the art digital production equipment, training, programming, outreach and more. 

The Community Kitchen will be used to feed artists, activate community programs, service fundraisers, meetings, cultural celebrations, awards ceremonies, as well as performances and arts programs. We will look to participate in food sustainability programs, local food and beverage markets, educational and community cooking programs, streaming cooking shows and coffee talks and more. These will all be able to be programmed in the Community Kitchen once the space is complete.

Thanks to the generosity of the Rotary Club of New Westminster, we are 1/4 of the way to our goal of $40,000 towards this space. We need to continue to raise funds in order to complete the kitchen and get started with community activation, connection and creation.
