Mission Statement
Hazelton District Public Library Association’s mission is to inspire literacy, discovery, and lifelong learning for all community members. The organization aims to serve as a centre for information, providing accessible print and digital collections and fostering educational, cultural, and creative opportunities in a welcoming environment.

Geographic Focus
The library serves Hazelton and the surrounding region in Northern British Columbia. Its services reach residents in the Village of Hazelton itself, as well as communities across the Kispiox Valley, up to 40 kilometres north, Witset to the east, and as far west as Gitwangak and Gitanyow, which are 75 kilometres away. The library is dedicated to providing resources and programs for both urban and rural populations throughout the Upper Skeena area.

Program Highlights
Hazelton District Public Library offers a variety of programs for children, teens, and adults, including literacy training, community events, and free public access to books, digital materials, and technology. The library partners with local organizations to deliver services such as the Summer Reading Club, outreach programs to neighbouring communities, and learning opportunities for all ages. Additional priorities include creating a welcoming space that features local and Indigenous art, improving accessibility, and fostering community participation through events and partnerships.
