As the final generation that can solve climate change, FES empowers youth to create a more inclusive, fair, prosperous, and sustainable future. FES is youth-led, and youth-serving and fully believes that youth are the key to cultivating political will, shifting societal attitudes, and changing dominant culture that will enable so-called Canada to deploy meaningful and fair climate solutions.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower youth, change lifestyles, and amplify powerful youth projects to create a sustainable future. We provide training, resources, and other support to see youth-led projects and leaders grow and be sustained across the country.
Our Vision
We envision a future where young people are empowered and supported in their active involvement building solutions for a climate resilient future.
Our Intended Impact
Our intended impact is to see that by 2030, the Canadian climate movement will be successfully implementing mitigation and adaptation strategies needed for a climate-resilient and fair Canada, through the influence and action of youth leaders.
The Youth Harbour, a project of FES, is a place of support, convening, and collaboration. We are committed to building climate-resilient communities by providing flexible, trust-based support to the youth-led climate movement in the form of financial, technical, and networking assistance.
We provide support through several funds and programs at The Youth Harbour:
Access Support. Funds to access events, training, conferences and workshops that assist youth in equity-deserving groups to enhance networking and knowledge within the climate sector.
Assembly Support. Funds for in-person events that bring young climate activists together to collaborate and connect.
Action Support. Funds for projects or initiatives of any size that aim to reduce the impacts of the climate crisis to support operational and scaling costs for youth leadership.
Abundance Fellowship. A cohort-based program that provides meaningful opportunities and funding to Indigenous, Black, and racialized youth and newcomers.
N:OW for Net-Zero (N4NZ), powered by FES, works on empowering students and educators with the resources they need to explore and implement meaningful climate action in pursuit of net-zero.
Through N4NZ we provide free resources to gain the knowledge, funding, and guides to help reduce emissions N:OW in your school community.
