Ernestine's Women's Shelter, established in 1983, provides advocacy, crisis intervention, and shelter to individuals experiencing violence. They maintain a 32-bed emergency shelter with 14 private bedrooms for those seeking refuge. Through their outreach program, they extend support to over 700 adults and children throughout the GTA. They provide critical services to community members who need safe housing and support services.

The shelter offers several key programs to support survivors. Their Life Without Violence Program provides 24-hour crisis intervention and counseling for shelter residents. The Child and Youth Program creates a nurturing space for young people who have witnessed violence. Their Housing and After Care Program helps survivors transition to independence. They also operate a food bank offering essential supplies to those in need. Since opening in 1983, Ernestine's has supported over 15,000 individuals and children.
