The Endangered Ecosystems Alliance (EEA) is a conservation organization working to support ecosystem literacy, the science-based protection of all native ecosystems, and the economies, cultures, and policies that are aligned with sustaining native ecosystems.
We work primarily at a federal level, as well as augmenting local and regional campaigns in the provinces and territories, to push for the protection of at least 50% of Canada in all terrestrial, freshwater and marine ecosystems by 2030.
Along with our national campaign efforts, the Endangered Ecosystems Alliance supports regional partners in their provincial campaign efforts. We engage non-traditional allies including businesses, unions, diverse faith groups, and multi-cultural outreach in order to greatly expand the total scale of the conservation movement. A critical part of our work is to work with First Nations organizations and communities to support Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCA's), while working to arrange community-based financing to support such protected areas. We engage in science and policy research, public education, news and social media outreach, and major public mobilizations.
