Discovery House is a non-profit organization that provides long-term housing as well as a continuum of care to women and their children fleeing domestic violence. Each family has a case manager, a mental health specialist and child development worker as well as access to programming to help them heal from their trauma, mitigate the adverse impacts of domestic violence and build resiliency and independence. Our goal is to ensure our families never return to an abusive situation, and therefore never need to return to us.

Discovery House offers longer-term, safe places for women and children to call home while they rebuild their lives after domestic violence. We also provide mothers access to counselling, support and programs to help them create new lives free from violence. Finally, we work directly with children to mitigate the effects of trauma and prevent the cycle from repeating.

In addition to our shelter facility, where we can house up to 19 families at a time, we have a community housing program in which we can provide safe shelter and programming to up to another 100 families at a time.
