Mission Statement:
The Canadian Arab Institute (CAI) aims to articulate the perspective of Arab-Canadians and build their capacity to contribute to Canadian society. They inform Canadian society about the social, economic, political, and cultural aspects of persons of Arab heritage through research and thought leadership. They celebrate the Canadian Arab community’s achievements and history through events, programs, and content that highlight individual and collective success. They engage and mobilize all segments of the diverse Canadian Arab community through partnerships, civic initiatives, and volunteerism in all cultural, economic, social, and political aspects of Canadian society.

Geographic Focus:
The Canadian Arab Institute operates nationally, focusing on issues and interests of the Canadian Arab community. They engage communities across Canada, highlighting the diversity and richness of Arab culture and history. Their activities and events are designed to reach and support Arab Canadians from coast to coast, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity within the community.

Program Highlights:
CAI conducts research projects and policy initiatives to help the Arab community in Canada find a stronger sense of belonging. They support capacity-building initiatives, providing resources and tools to smaller Arab and racialized organizations. CAI also organizes events like the Yalla Let’s Talk (YLT) Conference, which brings together acclaimed speakers and live performances focused on the future of Arab Canadians. Additionally, they launched a COVID-19 community collective series and a peer-reviewed research project investigating the impact of COVID-19 on racialized groups in Canada.
