The objective of CA-R-MA.Org(Cat Rescue Maritimes) is to humanely reduce the overpopulation of unowned, free roaming cats by managing community based TNR (trap, neuter, return) programs in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. CA-R-MA's efforts are entirely volunteer based. We aim to reduce the burden on local ainimal shelters that are forced to euthanize hundreds of cats every yar, and reduce the unnecessary suffering of unowned and unwanted free roaming cats. We also aim to educate communities on responsible cat ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Through TNR programs, CA-R-MA.ORG 1) traps and then spays/neuters unowned free roaming cats, 2)releases them back into their colonies, 3)improves the quality of life in colonies through dedicated caregivers, and provision of food and outdoor shelter when financially able, and 4)where possible, fosters and homes those cats/kittens that are deemed adoptable from colonies where conditions are unsafe.
