The BC Schizophrenia Society provides support, education and advocacy for families living with schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. The organization is also committed to funding local research into schizophrenia. Specifically, we provide:

1) Individual, family and public education programs about and to individuals with serious mental illness (SMI)
2) School education (elementary, high school, college & university) about SMI
3) Support groups to families who are coping with SMI
4) Support and education to children who have parents with SMI
5) Public policy development and communications
6) Local research on causes and treatment of schizophrenia
7) Online support programs
8) Provincial coordination of national education programs
9) Strengthening Families Together program, which provides information and resources to families with an ill relative
10) Ongoing web site updates and fundraising
11) Provincial coordination of community branch activities
