The bais Hamedrash (literally, House of Study) is involved in the following activities: 1. Conduct of Sunday morning prayer services which are open to the public. 2. Conduct of Sabbath prayer services. These are conducted Friday evenings, Saturday mornings and Saturday afternoons throughout the year and are open to the public. 3. Festival and High Holiday prayer services. These are conducted on Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Sukkoth, Simchat Torah, Shemini Azeret, Passover and Shavuot. In addition, special services are conducted on Purim and the Fast of Av. All these are open to the public. 4. The Bais Hamerdrash conducts a youth activity program on the Sabbath, providing Jewish activities suitable to the Sabbath for children of various ages. 5. The Bais Hamedrash is located in an area of North York with a significant number of new Jewish immigrants to Canada. The Bais Hamedrash conducts social programs to help these new immigrants become accustomed to Canada by integrating them into the Jewish community,
