Universities Canada is the national voice for Canadian universities. Universities Canada represents 96 public and private not-for-profit universities and university degree-level colleges. We are a membership organization providing university presidents with a unified voice and a forum for collective action. We have represented the interests of Canadian universities since 1911. Our missions is to foster and promote the interests of higher education, university research and innovation. We participate in the development of public policy to find solutions to the economic and social challenges facing Canada. We work closely with governments, private sector and the public to raise the profile of higher education. Our main membership activities are: advocating for higher education, developing public policy, sharing information on postsecondary education, developing leadership seminars for university leaders, managing scholarships and international programs, publishing reports, publications and an award-winning magazine. We are a non-governmental, not-for-profit membership organization establishment by an Act of Parliament. We are funded primarily through membership fees, with some career advertisements and publication sales and revenues from contract management services.
