Community developmentYouth/children

Through more than 20 programs, we support families living in poverty or at risk of homelessness; youth facing addictions and eating disorders or in-need of adoptive homes; community members looking to connect with resources and build relationships; and many, many more. *Our family-centered programs help break the cycle of poverty for future generations. This portfolio of programs helps families stay housed, provides parents with the skills they need to support their families, and helps provide children with opportunities to participate in recreation and other activities essential for healthy development. *Our community-based programs help build support networks for community members facing challenges at home or a lack of support or resources. This portfolio helps provide programming at our centres across the city, ensuring families and individuals have access to a safe and supportive space to talk, learn, access resources and build meaningful connections with their neighbours. *Our youth-specific programs help children and youth of all ages build the supports and skills needed to thrive. From providing supportive accommodations to youth unable to stay in their family homes to providing mentorship opportunities for young people transitioning to adulthood.

Aspen is always evolving in terms of programming in accordance to the needs of our community. In the recent fiscal year, Aspen extended support to our youth demographic by providing programs like: *The Element program provides youth with the supports and resources needed to attain their educational goals, build job skills and experience in the workforce, and become financially empowered. *Enhanced Youth Wellness program supports young people accessing treatment for mental health and/or addictions
