Arts and cultureEducation and research

Founded in 1926, Alberta University of the Arts (formerly Alberta College of Art and Design) is a community of thinkers, shapers, makers and risk takers. We are students, faculty, staff and alumni rich in diversity of culture and thought, challenged to fearlessly explore what moves us, drives us, and implores us to see the world differently.

As the only public post-secondary institution in the prairie provinces devoted exclusively to advanced education, practice, and research in visual culture, design, and associated emergent fields, AUArts offers four-year undergraduate and graduate studio-based degrees, preparing learners for careers in visual endeavors.

Fundraising initiatives include: Student scholarships & awards, visiting artists programs, the Illingworth Kerr Gallery and the Indigenous resource space, the Lodgepole Center.
