Our mission is to promote and enhance the emotional and mental well-being of individuals with facial differences and their families through social and peer support, information, educational programs, and public awareness.
Living with a facial difference is something you can’t hide; it can often create barriers to communication, socialization, education, employment, and aspirations. Affected individuals often face public ridicule, bullying, staring, humiliation, peer rejection, and social isolation. Unsupported, these actions can affect the social, mental, and emotional health and well-being of a person.
AboutFace is the only charity in Canada offering support to individuals of every age, with any type of facial difference.
Our programs and services aim to encourage and empower the facial difference community, families, friends, and allies while providing educational resources and public awareness campaigns.
This past year, we did not introduce any new programs but worked to grow and enhance existing programs through social media, website and e-newsletters.
