Mission Statement:
The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society (ACEHS) mission is to lovingly provide culturally supportive, affordable housing and services that end Aboriginal homelessness on Vancouver Island. They focus on supporting Indigenous peoples experiencing homelessness, guided by the voices of Indigenous Street Family who share their immediate needs, lived experiences, and perspectives on solutions.

Geographic Focus:
The ACEHS operates primarily on Vancouver Island, specifically in Victoria, BC. They build partnerships locally and island-wide to address systemic and structural barriers, providing cultural supports, connections, and housing stability.

Program Highlights:
The ACEHS offers several key programs:
- Indigenous Women's Housing (SPAKEN HOUSE): Provides 21 units of supportive housing with services like gardening, elder support, hot meals, and cultural connections.
- Family Reunification: Reunites parents who have experienced homelessness with their children in a safe and supportive setting.
- Land-Based Healing: Helps Indigenous people who have struggled with homelessness and substance use issues by connecting them with the healing power of nature and Indigenous cultural connections.
- Shelter (CULTURALLY SUPPORTIVE HOUSE): Offers culturally supportive housing with peer support workers, resident elders, detox support, and pathways to independent living.
- Outreach: Ensures those living in absolute homelessness are safe, warm, and have enough to eat. The outreach team also does intakes for housing and connects Indigenous peoples with appropriate resources.
- Research: Continuously develops best practices based on ongoing research and involves the Indigenous Street Community in designing processes and programs.
