The Reality in Canada
Every day, 1.2 million young Canadians face anxiety, depression, or self-harm in silence. Many go undiagnosed for years, suffering silently. Less than 20% will receive appropriate treatment.
Mood disorders and mental illness are reaching epidemic proportions in Canada, yet the issue is not getting the attention it deserves. While there are many organizations supporting youth, far too many are working in isolation, lacking resources and in dire need of funding support and helpful collaborations.
Our Solution
Operation Overcome works collaboratively with charities and donors to ensure resources reach the young people who need them most while maximizing the impact of donor dollars. The initiative focuses on three pillars:
1. Promoting knowledge and awareness
2. Surrounding youth with specialized services
3. Building a powerful community of support
When we break down barriers and help charities work together, collectively and collaboratively, we can overcome limits to youth mental wellness.
Let's Do It Together
When the right people work together... Transformation happens.
Youth mental health charities have been set up in provinces across Canada. These charities each employ unique strategies and services to support youth mental health. Operation Overcome will work with charities across Canada, as well as government, businesses, researchers, and Foundations, directing funds to where they are most needed.
The Robb Nash Project and The Kelty Foundation are bringing together leading experts to advise on charities and resources driving measurable, positive change for youth. Operation Overcome’s funding decisions and actions will follow the guidance of an Advisory Board made up of Canada’s top youth mental health experts, ensuring support reaches the areas of greatest need.
