The Reality in Canada
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for people aged 15 to 24.
An estimated 1.2 million young people in Canada today are overcome and overwhelmed by worsening mental health. Many go undiagnosed for years, suffering silently. Less than 20% will receive appropriate treatment.
Our Solution
We're building an army to end youth suicide. Here are our three main focus areas:
1. Promoting knowledge and awareness
2. Surrounding youth with specialized services
3. Building a powerful community of support
When we break down barriers and help charities work together, collectively and collaboratively, we can OVERCOME limits to youth mental wellness.
Let's Do It Together
Youth mental health charities have been set up in provinces across Canada. These charities each employ unique strategies and services to support youth mental health. Operation Overcome will work with charities across Canada, as well as government, businesses, researchers, and Foundations, directing funds to where they are most needed.
The actions of Operation Overcome will be deployed on the guidance and expertise of an Advisory Board comprised of Canada’s top minds in youth mental health – to ensure that resources are provided to the areas that need it most.
