The Blender team is picking up our paddles and entering TechPong, the city’s largest charitable table tennis tournament. On Nov. 7 at ScienceWorld, we’ll be competing in support of Covenant House Vancouver.
Covenant House Vancouver is a nonprofit dedicated to providing sanctuary, support, and resources to youth experiencing homelessness, trauma, and abuse.
As homelessness continues to rise for the fourth straight year across Metro Vancouver, the impact has disproportionately fallen on young people. One 2018 report (https://bit.ly/2E7hfg8) indicated that more than 681 people between 13 and 24 years old were living without homes in Vancouver, a full third of the total homeless population.
Covenant House works to reverse this trend, offering a broad host of services designed to foster a sense of safety, control, and empowerment in youth experiencing homelessness, fleeing abuse, or ageing out of foster care. In 2018, they provided food, shelter, clothing, counselling and more to 1,228 young people throughout Vancouver.
By donating, you’ll be making a positive, material difference in the lives of local young people.
